Cadiz, Another Splendid Spanish City

Spain is full of beautiful and splendid places, provinces and cities to travel and explore. Cadiz is one of Spain’s places of interest. Cadiz means Gadir meaning ‘enclosure’ for it is mostly surrounded by water.

Cadiz is a mixture of several cultures due to its history of conquerors and is a good travel destination. The city was founded around 1100 BC and in 500 BC it was conquered by Carthaginians then followed by Romans, Visigoth and Moors. The last conqueror ended their rule in 1262. Then it became Spain capital in the years 1810 to 1813; it was in this century that the beautiful architecture and monuments that you enjoyed on your Spain travel today was built.

To see the largest and biggest cork tree grove then visit Parque Natural Los Alcornocales. If you are fanatic of wild flowers then don’t miss Parque natural Bahia de Cadiz and Parque Natural del Estrecho.
