Cadiz, Another Splendid Spanish City

Spain is full of beautiful and splendid places, provinces and cities to travel and explore. Cadiz is one of Spain’s places of interest. Cadiz means Gadir meaning ‘enclosure’ for it is mostly surrounded by water.

Cadiz is a mixture of several cultures due to its history of conquerors and is a good travel destination. The city was founded around 1100 BC and in 500 BC it was conquered by Carthaginians then followed by Romans, Visigoth and Moors. The last conqueror ended their rule in 1262. Then it became Spain capital in the years 1810 to 1813; it was in this century that the beautiful architecture and monuments that you enjoyed on your Spain travel today was built.

On Spain travel, the least recommended sights are usually the places that can give you the most pleasant visual experience. Travel guides to Spain point out cities like Madrid and Barcelona to the tourists, though they have reason to do so, Cadiz should also be appreciated.

Flamenco is a fiery activity that tourist can watch in Cadiz; in fact they can watch it every Thursday night in cultural theaters around the place. The dance is a rhythmic tapping of the heels and toes with graceful movements of the arms, hips and body in tune with the rhythm of the drums.

Nature parks are also bountiful in Cadiz. It is an alternative tourist destination when beach combing is becoming lame for your taste. Artistic landscape of rivers, caves, limestone and spring can be appreciated in parquet Natural Sierra De Grazalema. To see the largest and biggest cork tree grove then visit Parque Natural Los Alcornocales. If you are fanatic of wild flowers then don’t miss Parque natural Bahia de Cadiz and Parque Natural del Estrecho.

A Spanish city- Cadiz is also famous for its beaches, museums, cathedrals, culture, and festivals.
